As a Design Engineer intern, you will join the engineering office working directly with the CTO. The role is versatile: digital mock-up (DMU) and configuration management, detailed design and drafting, and hands-on industrial support on the shop floor. You will join at a key stage of the project: building a full-scale demonstrator for flight testing.
Responsibilities
Digital Mock-Up (DMU) & configuration management
- Build and maintain the product DMU (Fusion 360): assembly tree, spatial integration, clash detection.
- Apply configuration management processes: naming, versioning, baselines and traceability.
Design & drafting
- Perform detailed mechanical design of components, tooling and test equipment, from the dimensioned 3D model to the 2D manufacturing drawing.
- Apply geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) and aerospace drawing standards, working with the analysis engineers (structure, thermal, fluids).
Industrial engineering & shop-floor support
- Support manufacturing and assembly on the shop floor: processes, fit-up, first-article validation.
- Liaise with suppliers and take part in test bench and sub-system integration.
Profile
- Proficiency in a CAD tool (3D modeling, assembly, drafting; Fusion 360 a plus).
- Knowledge of configuration management (changes, baselines, BOM) and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
- Hands-on ability to solve practical integration and manufacturing problems.
- Rigor, team spirit; fluency in French and English.
