Focus on Eyja

EYJA

December 16, 2025

Designed for general aviation, Eyja is a new generation aeronautical turbine built around a single ambition: push efficiency beyond the current limits of aviation propulsion. At its core lies a technology long mastered on the ground, yet never successfully deployed in flight: steam injection.

Conventional aviation turbines are among the most optimized machines ever built.
Yet their efficiency has reached a plateau. Eyja breaks this ceiling by re-introducing a thermodynamic degree of freedom: recovering waste heat, transforming it into steam, and reinjecting it directly into the combustion process.

The result is a step-change in efficiency, not an incremental gain.

Eyja is engineered to directly replace piston engines on light aircraft platforms:

  • Drastically reduced maintenance complexity
  • Lower operational emissions: no NOₓ formation thanks to moderated combustion temperatures
  • Superior power-to-weight ratio
  • Smooth, turbine-grade reliability
